Founder of Ubiquta LLC. Director of Celestial Guru Films. Founder of Midwest Medical Teams (1999), later Charity Relief International, now part of Celestial Guru Films.
His work began in 1984 in West Germany, serving in the United States Army. In 1985 and 1986, as president of the Junior Enlisted Council at Spinelli Barracks in Mannheim. One of the many projects was to lead a troop fundraiser that provided hundreds of Christmas gifts for young patients at the Kinderkrankenhaus, the children's hospital in Mannheim.
During his military service in West Germany from 1984 to 1986, he worked alongside military and government colleagues to build greater understanding between American and Soviet personnel, including professional relationships with Soviet military counterparts. Some Soviet military leaders quietly encouraged recognition within their own government that religious citizens could be loyal, constructive members of society. It was the work of many people over many years, but those ideas gradually moved up the chain of command, helping create a climate more receptive to reform. What began as quiet rumblings within the ranks eventually reached the highest levels of government and became part of a broader shift in the Soviet approach to change, which opened the way eventually to democratic reforms and the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, and the end of the Soviet Union in December, 1991.
In 1999 we launched Midwest Medical Teams, later renamed Charity Relief International, which brought medical and economic development to people in need and to working families in their own communities and countries. That organization was later transformed into Celestial Guru Films, and the work continues through an informal association. In 2008 we began an effort to motivate the Kenyan government to help families displaced by the post-election violence in IDP camps after political unrest. Today Nick directs Celestial Guru Films, which offers paid training in film and game development. He is also the founder of Ubiquta LLC, a separate company that treats the operating system as a configurable component of the compute platform.
